Green Team Arrowhead Earth Day Planning Round Table

GTA Round Table Green Team Arrowhead (GTA) has invited organizations located in and serving our mountain communities to participate in a round table discussion on economic and environmental stability. The discussion will focus on the local celebration of Earth Day, and how we can amplify the impact of our respective organizations through cooperation.

Earth Day 2009 will be celebrated on April 22. It will be the 39th annual celebration of the “nationwide grassroots demonstration on behalf of the environment.” It is the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a billion people participate in Earth Day each year, attending individual events toward common goals.

The concept of Earth Day has been expanded in recent years, and many organizations worldwide have also planned events for before and after the official day.

GTA will be holding an Earth Day Celebration to educate and involve our mountain communities regarding various green technologies and resources. We would like other organizations to participate in our event, and we want to publicize what other organizations are planning.

The round table discussion for the planning of Earth Day will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009, from 3 to 5 PM at the Arrowhead Welcome Center. Click here for details.

We have already contacted a number of organizations requesting their participation, and we have received many commitments. If you represent an organization that hasn’t yet been contacted, and would like to participate in the round table discussion, contact Jeff Perlis at Jeff@GreenTeamArrowhead.com

In order to maximize the benefits resulting from the round table, we are requesting that participating organizations provide us with some basic information in an online form, which is located HERE.

The forms will be used as a focus for the round table discussion. They will be accessible on our website for organizations and the general public to peruse.

The forms will be updated regularly until the event. A Word file compilation of the updated forms can be accessed HERE.

After the round table discussion, GTA will publish a mountain-wide schedule of Earth Day activities, and maintain a network that can be used for future cooperation among agencies.
