2009 Green Team Arrowhead Earth Day Celebration

Green Team Arrowhead (GTA) is pleased to announce that it will be holding an Earth Day Celebration in Lake Arrowhead, California, on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Organizations, businesses, and residents of the mountain communities ranging from Lake Silverwood through Big Bear are gearing up to make the celebration a spectacular event.

Although the actual Earth Day is April 22, the observance has extended into a week-long “nationwide grassroots demonstration on behalf of the environment.”

The Earth Day Celebration is an effort by GTA to bring key environmental issues, such as management of natural resources and clean energy technologies, into the public eye. We then hope to harness the growing interest in environmentalism and volunteerism for the public benefit.

GTA Round Table Meeting In a kickoff round table discussion to begin preparations for the event, held by GTA on January 16, there was participation by representatives of 35 organizations. The activities of each of these groups, together with contact information, may be found HERE.

Minutes of the round table meeting may be found HERE.

Check this website often to follow our progress as the event takes shape. We will shortly announce the venue, and outline our vision for the event.

Groups and individuals are invited to come on board, and participate in what promises to be a historic event.
